Kloud Blog#
Work in Progress
Site is under construction. Hope to see you back soon.
This blog is built in Markdown. It aims to share inspirational articles, tutorials and other relevant resources to promote the use of cloud native technologies.
An example of such technologies is running this website: A combination of Azure Static Web Apps and MkDocs.
Purpose#
There are many situations where a cloud native technology could drastically reduce the cost and complexity of running a legacy tech service or solution.
We want to share the knowledge we have with those who want to learn - and demonstrate how much can be done. Let's see where this takes us.
Agenda#
We want to promote cloud native technologies including
- Public Cloud offerings such as
- Large Hyperscalers: Azure, GCP, AWS
- Midsize IaaS and PaaS providers: DigitalOcean, Linode, etc.
- On-prem/Homelab Infrastructure: Anything running in containers can help pave the way
..and probably many more options, where cloud provides engineers with the ability to self-service the full stack.
- DevOps Ways of Working
- Giving autonomy and accountability with the application team
- Incentivicing good decisions through you build it, you run it
- Promoting automation and shift left patterns to reduce repetitive work as much as possible
..and all the other positive features that come from Agile and DevOps cultural approaches
- Open Source Software
- Free as in whatever freedom will improve your ability to get value for money
- Secure as in no hidden backdoors
..and considering that many use cases can be solved without the Rolls Royce equivalent software with the nice marketing brochures.
